New Zealand's Lucy Lawless joined the cast of Battlestar Galactica in 2005. She appeared in the role of reporter, D'Anna Biers, in the season two episode titled, "Final Cut." By the end of the episode it is revealed that Biers is a humanoid cylon. Her model, Number 3, has been known to assist other cylons during download. She also appeared in a position of power during the cylon occupation on New Caprica.Mania: "Final Cut"
The Boxing and Unboxing of D'Anna
Near the end of season three, D'Anna and Gaius Baltar descended from the cylon baseship against the wishes of her fellow cylons. She had been secretly experimenting with the space between death and redownload for some time, which began to create messianic visions of the Final Five cylons. Cylon hierarchy forbids the seven from even discussing the final five, and D'Anna's actions begin to concern her fellow cylons. She is killed in the Temple of the Five and as she's resurrecting, Brother Cavil tells her that the others have all voted and they are boxing her model and keeping her in cold storage.D'Anna returns in season four when the colonists discover that the Final Five are the key to finding Earth. Resurrected by President Laura Roslin, D'Anna says she will not tell who the fifth unless the humans agree to work with the cylons in finding Earth.
