She attended the William Davis Center for Actors Study where she studied drama. In 1988, the actress married Garth Lawless. They had a daughter together named Daisy. The couple divorced in 1995. She remarried on March 28, 1998 to producer Robert Tapert. They have two sons together named Julius Robert Bay and Judah Miro Tapert.
