Lucky The Legless Turtle

"Lucky" is a box turtle owned by Sally Pyne of Petaluma, California. Lucky's front legs were chewed off by a raccoon. Pyne found a veterinarian who amputated what was left of his legs and created "prosthetic legs" out of plastic discs normally used as chair sliders. The veterinarian's bill was $900. "Lucky" is now able to walk again.http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20090821/ARTICLES/908219932/1349?Title=Lucky-gets-new-legs
