  • Professional ice hockey player Lubomir Visnovsky currently plays for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.

  • NHL Career

    Visnovsky was drafted out of the HC Slovan Bratislava of the Slovak Extraliga 118th overall in the 2000 NHL draft by the Los Angeles Kings. He joined the team as a full roster member the following year, playing 81 of 82 regular season games, and eight playoff games. He was also selected for the All-Rookie Team that same season. In 2007, Visnovsky was selected for his first NHL All-Star Game. He capped off the 2007 season by signing a five year contract extension with the Kings, worth a reported $5.65 million.
  • International Career

    In 1996, Visnovsky represented Slovakia in his first of eight appearances in the Ice Hockey World Championships. He has helped the team win a silver medal in 2000, a gold medal in 2002 and a bronze medal in 2003. He has played in two World Cup of Hockey tournaments and three Winter Olympics with Team Slovakia, however the team did not place in any of those contests.
