Low blood pressure is a condition when the blood pressure drops below the normal range. Because some blood pressure is essential for blood flow, it can be fatal if the blood pressure drops low enough that the blood doesn't get to brain and organs. Constantly low blood pressure is only dangerous if there are symptoms. Sudden drops in blood pressure are more dangerous and may indicate another problem such as infection or hemorrhaging.American Heart Association: Low Blood Pressure
