Dr. Louise Leakey is a paleontologist who is also the daughter of renowned British paleontologists Meave Epps and Richard Leakey. Her research has focused on the human genus, Homo, and early human ancestors dating back 1.5 to 2 million years. Leakey searches for hominid fossils in the Turakana Basin, which is on the Eastern side of Africa between Kenyan and Ethiopian highlands. Dr. Leakey was a featured speaker at TED 2008.
