Hockey prospect Louis Leblanc was born on January 26, 1991 in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada. He played for the Lac St-Louis Lions from 2006-2008 in the AAA Minor Midget League before joining the USHL's Omaha Lancers for the 2008-2009 season.
Leblanc was drafted eighteenth overall in the first round of the 2009 NHL Draft to join his hometown team, the Montreal Canadiens.
In his first season with Omaha, Leblanc posted 59 points in 60 games, earning him the USHL Rookie of the Year award and a spot on the USHL All-Rookie Team.
