• Louis C.K. is a comedian, writer, director, producer, and actor. He won an Emmy in 1999 for writing The Chris Rock Show and starred in the short-lived HBO series, Lucky Louie, based largely on his stand-up comedy.

  Louis C.K. is writing a new TV series, Louie, that is slated to come out on FX in 2010. Slated stars are Louis C.K., Liam Broggy, Nick DiPaolo, Ashley Gerasimovich, Kate Gilligan, Rick Shapiro, and Nilaja Sun.

  Louis C.K. wrote and filmed a stand up movie, Louis C.K.: Hilarious, that is slated to be in theaters in late 2009.

  Louis C.K. started his stand-up career at age 17, and gained a reputation as a "comedian's comedian," relatively unknown to the public at large but beloved by his peers. Comic Dane Cook has been accused of lifting material from Louis C.K. After a 2005 appearance on the HBO stand-up series One Night Stand, his comedy started to gain a wider audience. He has since released the hour-long HBO special Shameless and a follow-up, Chewed Up.

  Louis C.K. is one of the writers for Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Dana Carvey Show, The Chris Rock Show, Cedric the Entertainer Presents, Caroline's Comedy Hour, and many more TV shows.

  Louis C.K. wrote the Rock Show spinoff film Pootie Tang and co-wrote Chris Rock's other films, Down to Earth and I Think I Love My Wife.
