Louis Vito became a professional snowboarder in 2005 at the age of 17, he immediately left Vermont, where he was residing with his family, to go to Utah in order to advance his career. The Australian Open is where the Louie Vitto became a household name where he became the first snowboarder to sucessfully complete a backside 1080.
Vito went on to win two championships during his time at the Open. In 2008, he won;
- Chevy US Snowboarding Grand Prix series title and the same year he won the *Killington Grand Prix
- Tamarack Grand Prix.
- Mountain Superpipe Championship, held in Squaw Valley, California.
- Etnies GVR
He also took the second place prize in the Vans Cup with Danny Cass the same year. Vito, who has proven himself as a champion on the slopes is also an actor. He was a guest star on Switched an ABC Family program and he entertain more than 28,000 followers on Twitter with his regular Tweets. Vitos other acting credits include:
