During an October 17, 2008, episode of ESPN's College Football Live, the broadcasters were discussing the Michigan Wolverines' poor start to their football season. The conversation turned to head coach Rich Rodriguez and in his analysis, Holtz added "Ya know, Hitler was a great leader too."Holtz may face disciplinary action from ESPN for the comment.
