Lou Dobbs is a political pundit, talk radio host and television personality. He is the host of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight and is widely known for his vehement opposition to illegal immigration, guest worker programs and amnesty for illegal aliens.
On Wednesday November 11, 2009 Lou announced live on CNN he would be leaving the television network for personal reasons which are but not limited to the direction of the economy and the country.
Background
Dobbs graduated with a bachelors degree in economics from Harvard University in 1967. After graduating, Dobbs worked for federal anti-poverty programs in Washington DC and as a cash-management specialist for Union Bank in Los Angeles. He became a police and fire reporter for KBLU-AM in Yuma, Arizona in the early 70s and spent the remainder of the decade as a television anchor in Phoenix and Arizona. Dobbs was recruited by Ted Turner in 1979 to work for the then nascent CNN.
