Lost Season 6 Episodes
Episode 6x01 "LA X, Part 1" - Multi-centric
Episode 6x02 "LA X, Part 2" - Multi-centric
The season premiere (Episodes 1 and 2) introduce what the producers call a "flash-sideway" where our familiar characters are revealed to not have crashed on the Island, but live their lives in the real world. Whether this was some result of the detonation of the bomb or created by some other event is not told to the viewers. Eventually, subtle (and not so subtle) difference appear between the lives of our known Losties and their counterparts in this different world. In an intriguing scene, the Island is shown to be submerged in water, leaving viewers to contemplate the reasons why and what consequences this may have. After safely arriving on Flight 815 at LAX, Kate escapes the marshal and once again becomes a fugitive. Jack learns that his father's body and casket have been lost in transit. On the island, the 70s Losties are transported to 2007, the time where their missing friends were. Juliet dies from her trauma/the bomb explosion and Sayid is miraculously resurrected that troubling those around him. The Man in Black (as Locke) shows himself as the Smoke Monster and kills Jacob's bodyguards who had accompanying Ilana.
Episode 6x03 "What Kate Does" - Kate-centric
Sawyer escapes from the temple and Jin and Kate try to track him down. The temple Others' chief, Dogen says that Sayid has been infected and try to get Jack to poison him. In the sideways, Kate, still a fugitive, takes Claire to the hospital when she goes into labor and are treated by Dr. Ethan Goodspeed (Rom).
Episode 6x04 "The Substitute" - Locke-centric.
Man in Black attempts to recruit Sawyer and reveals to him a mysterious cave where, supposedly, Jacob kept a list of survivors on the island to determine his "candidates." In the sideways, Locke, engaged to Helen, is fired from his job, but receives help from Hugo Reyes (Hurley), eventually landing a position as a substitute teacher.
Episode 6x05 "Lighthouse" - Jack-centric
Jacob convices Hurley to lead Jack to lighthouse where Jack learns that Jacob and the Island may have plans for him. Claire interrogates an Other about the whereabouts of Aaron while Jin recovers from his wounds. In the sideways, Jack overcomes his daddy-issues and learns how to better relate with his son.
Episode 6x06 "Sundown" - Sayid-centric
Man in Black recruits the infected Sayid to his side and has him issue an ultimatum to the temple Others that they will join him or die. Kate and Claire have an icy reunion. Man in Black ravages the temple after sundown killing its inhabitants who have not chosen to join him. In the sideways world, Sayid is still pining for Nadia, but is punishing himself for his past life by keeping his distance from her, even pushing her to marry his brother. Sayid's brother is in debt to a loan shark an Sayid is forced to return to his old ways, killing the man and his minions.
Episode 6x07 "Dr. Linus"- Ben-centric
Miles reads Jacob's ashes in front of Ilana, revealing to her that Ben had killed Jacob. She plans Ben's death and has him dig his own grave. Man in Black visits been, frees him from his chains and asks him to join him as leader of the island after Man in Black and his people leave. Ben grabs a gun, but instead of killing Ilana, pleads to her for forgiveness. She gives him a second chance. Richard Alpert discovers Hurley and Jack in the jungle looking for the temple. Richard, however, leads them to the Black Rock where Richards intends to have Jack kill him with dynamite. Jack believes the dynamite won't blow up because he feels that he has a greater purpose on the island. In the sideways story, Ben is a high school teacher who makes Machiavellian plans to blackmail the principal, but relents when he realizes his actions could harm one of his best students, Alex Rousseau.
Episode 6x08 "Recon" - Sawyer-centric
The Man in Black sends Sawyer to scout out Hydra Island. Saywer discovers that Charles Widmore has come to the island and that Widmore is keeping something secret locked aboard his submarine. In the sidways section, Sawyer is a cop with partner Miles Straum. Miles sets up Sawyer on a blind date with Charlotte Staples Lewis, but things take a bad turn when she sees part of his secretive past. Although a police officer, Sawyer is still determined to find "the real Sawyer" and kill him.
Episode 6x09 "Ab Aeterno" - Richard Alpert-centric (flashback)
The majority of the episode is devoted to telling Richard Alpert's story in a flashback set in 1867. Alpert accidentally kills a doctor when trying to obtain medicine for his dying wife and is sentenced to execution. He is saved, however, when the captain of the Black Rock, Magnus Hanso stops in port seeking slaves/indentured servants. On the island, Alpert is manipulated by the man in black, using the image of his dead wife, Isabella. Convinced that Jacob is the devil, Alpert confronts Jacob near the foot of the statue. After a struggle, Jacob convinces Alpert that he had been tricked and conveys to him that the Man in Black is evil. Jacob explains the island as a cork which must be in place to keep evil from escaping into the world. Alpert suggests that Jacob should have someway to push people in the direction of good before the Man in Black can influence them and Jacob offer's Alpert the role as his representative in exchange for eternal life.
Episode 6x10 "The Package" Sun- and Jin-centric
Jin is kidnapped by Widmore's team and taken to the Hydra Island. Zoe asks Jin to confirm that it is his handwriting on maps detailing the location of strong pockets of electromagnetism. Widmore shows Jin pictures of his never-before-seen daughter and tries to convince Jin that he must help him or everything he knows and loves "will cease to be." Later, Sayid swims up to the docked submarine and sees a heavily-drugged Desmond being transported to the infirmary.
In the sideway, Sun and Jin are not married, but it soon become apparent the two are having an affair behind the back of Sun's powerful father. The money Jin was supposed to deliver for Mr. Paik has been impounded by customs official, leaving him concerned about failing in his mission. Sun broaches the subject of Jin running away with her and getting married behind her father's back, saying she has $25,000 in her bank account to help them make a start. Meanwhile, Martin Keamy shows up at Sun's door looking for Jin and the money. He finds Jin hiding in the bathroom and Sun says she has the money to pay him, but just needs to withdraw it from the bank. Omar accompanies Sun to the bank, discovering that her father has withdrawn all the money from the account which she had thought to be secret.
Meanwhile, Jin is taken by Keamy to a restaurant where he ties him up before tending to other business. With Jin not understanding English, Keamy tells Jin he feels bad for having to kill him and that the $25,000 he was supposed to deliver was, in fact, for his own execution. He says Paik ordered the hit because he knew that Sun and Jin were having an affair. Meanwhile, Sayid, from the earlier flash sideways, was brought into the restaurant where Jin was being held and escaped, shooting his captors. Finding Jin in the meatlocker as he had earlier, Sayid places a box cutter in his hand to give him a chance to escape. Jin discovers the carnage and hides among the victims when Mikhail walks in with Sun and Jin surprises Mikhail. Jin shoots Mikhail in the eye, but Sun is caught in the crossfire, seriously wounded as she tells Jin that she is pregnant.
Episode 6x11 "Happily Ever After" - Desmond-centric
Desmond wakes up groggily and asks Widmore what happened to him; Widmore explains they are back on the island and tells him the Island isn't done with him yet. Widmore tells Zoe to set up "the test" and Desmond is placed between large coils in a building with a generator. Desmond is told he needs to go through this test because he is the only person to survive a massive electromagnetic event. As the generator powers up, there is a flash and Desmond is suddenly in the airport, apparently in the sideways timeline after the landing of 815.
Desmond briefly encounters Claire and Hurley in the airport before being picked up by his driver (Minkowski from the freighter). He is taken to Charles Widmore's office in LA where Widmore welcomes him with a hug. Widmore asks Desmond to help get Charlie Pace to a musical collaboration with his Widmore's son. Widmore and Desmond share a glass of McCutcheon's. Dessmond picks up Charlie at the police station. Charlie walks into a bar and is joined by Desmond. Charlie tells Desmond that he has seen the real truth, seeing a brief glimpse of love with a blonde girl when he almost died on the airplane. In Desmond's car, Charlie steers the vehicle into the harbor. Desmond save's Charlie from drowning, but sees "Not Penny's Boat" written on Charlie's hand for a brief moment.
Desmond is taken to the hospital and is given an MRI. During the MRI, Desmond sees flashes of his future (or main timeline future) including Penny and his young son. He gets out of the machine and looks for Charlie, briefly encountering Jack. Desmond finds Charlie and asks who Penny is and Charlie says he "saw it."
Desmond arrives at the planned concert to tell Mrs. Widmore (Eloise Hawking) that Charlie will not be performing and she is understanding. Desmond overhears the name "Penny" on the guestlist and asks to see it. Eloise stops him and says that something has affected how he sees things and that it is a "violation" and tells him to go on his way. On his way out Daniel Widmore (Faraday) knocks on the car window and asks to speak with him. Daniel shows Desmond a drawing he made that is an advanced physics equation, but he doesn't know how he did it as he is a musician, not a physicist. He tells Desmond that this wasn't supposed to be their lives and thinks that he already "set off a bomb" that changed all of their lives. Desmond asks about Penny and Daniels says that Desmond "felt it" and tells him that Penny is his half-sister and that Desmond can meet her. Desmond goes to a stadium and sees Penny running the stairs and introduces himself. She agrees to go to coffee with him. In his limo, Desmond asks his driver for a manifest from Flight 815.
Back on Hydra Island, Desmond emerges safely from the generator room and says he understands what he's here to do and asks when they start. While the group walks through the woods, Sayid overtakes Widmore's people and Desmond agrees to go with him.
