Season four puts a new twist on the old tried-and-true flashback that Lost is famous for. Instead of flashing back to each character's past as the show has for the past three seasons, the show incorporates flash forwards to the time when the characters are off the island. These flash forwards lead to the revelation of the Oceanic Six. According to the current narrative there were only six survivors of the plane crash and they include: Kate, Jack, Sayid, Hurley, Claire's son (who is adopted by Kate) Aaron, and Sun (who ultimately has a child after she leaves the island).
