This is page 2 of the complete Lost Planet Extreme Condition Walkthrough featuring VS Weapons, Enemies and General Tips.
-
-
VS Grenade Launcher
- It is basically a rocket launcher that fires a fragmenting rocket.
- It is one of the only good weapons to use on a foot as well.
- The range is rather limiting though.
- At close range it is still devastating though.
- It is good for Akrid and VS bosses, since the spread damage should hit all the weak points while inflicting massive damage.
-
Homing Laser
- It is a rare weapon that you won't see until the end of the game.
- The cool factor is that you can hold down the fire button to get a lock on about 4 different targets.
- When you shot, it will hit all of them with somewhat weak lasers.
- It is good for your fights inward, but useless in the boss fights.
- The lasers are too weak and they usually ignore weak spots.
-
Enemies
- These are in basic order of appearance.
- Bugs: These are the annoying little akrid that come from the hives throughout the game. They have very little attack power and die from a few hits. They start to shoot fireballs in the later levels, but they're just as weak. The only dangerous variant are the red, explosive ones in the last few levels.
- Chryatis: These are tougher. They basically look like praying mantises. There are big versions and bigger armored versions besides the little ones at the start. They can all sweep at the ground with their feet, and the armored versions can shoot rocks. They all die the same though. Shoot out their legs and blast the tail to finish them off.
- Dongos: The dongo is that annoying akrid you that's technically your first enemy (I don't count the prologue for this though). There are bigger versions later on, but nothing really changes. They both can roll forward as an invulnerable ball and they can use the pincers to hit you. Dodge it's roll attack or use a shotgun/grenade to stagger them. Then just shoot the tail until they die.
- Trilids: Annoying little pests. The only danger is that they can knock you off a bridge into lava occasionally. If you look at them wrong, they'll die. Still blow up their hives to be free of them.
- Spores: These are just stalks that pop up from the ground. They turn red and launch missiles in all directions, but they can't aim. Stay low to dodge and then shoot the head enough to kill it.
- Bees: Bees are powerful, but they present their big weak spot in every attack. They can launch various elemental attacks and ram you into a wall in a "stinging" attack. Just dodge any ramming attack and kill them quickly with some well placed rounds in the gut.
- Balloon Akrid: For lack of a better name, they're balloons. They have no real reason to exist other than as an annoyance. Their only offensive attack is to spawn mini-balloons which explode on contact. Shoot them from a distance to avoid the dying blast.
- Scorpion: A somewhat powerful later enemy. They can deal a lot of damage, but they are easy to kill. Just shoot up the orange band on their tail to make them flip over. Then shoot the weak spot on their belly.
- Snow Pirates: They're a joke. Just shot them a few times with any gun you have. A head shot is an instant kill.
- NEVEC Soldiers: A better armed joke. They're annoying in a group, but the AI is so bad that they amount to nothing more than target practice and a source for plasma rifles.
- Enemy Vital Suits: These aren't too hard. If you have a VS, you just need to use whatever weapons you have to counter them. Dodge their fire and counterattack. If you're on foot, use a rocket, grenade, plasma grenade, or plasma rifle to destroy them.
- Tip: A fully charged energy blast will just knock the pilot out of the VS. In other words...Free VS.

General Tips
- Watch your T-Eng. You don't want to ever run out. VS's really use up a lot of power.
- Be careful when picking up weapons for your VS. You may accidentally just eject from your VS. Make sure that the weapon choice is in the little blue box above the weapon you want to replace.
- Don't forget that you can rip a weapon off of a live VS to attach to another VS. This lets you build a perfect model.
- You don't take any damage when getting in or out of a VS. This should come in handy during boss fights.
- Don't forget about the energy gun's ability. That full charged blast will knock the pilot out of any non-boss VS.
- Remember to crouch behind cover when analyzing a situation.
- Pick up all the ammo that you can.
- Activate any data post that you see. It's a free burst of T-Eng. I may not mention all of them in my walkthrough, unless you'll really need T-Eng.
