This is Part 3 of our complete Lost Odyssey Walkthrough, featuring The Disk 1 of the Lost Odyssey game which includes The Highlands of Wohl, The Highlands of Wohl II, and The Magic Republic of Uhra I.
-
The Highlands of Wohl
- Enemies: Magic Khent Soldier, Insane Khent Soldier, Heavy Tank (Boss)
- The game doesn't hesitate, and the moment the introductory cutscene is over you're thrust into the middle of a battle between Khent and Uhran armies. You're first fight is against five Magic Khent Soldiers, but it's a pretty straightforward fight. Just keep pressing attack and you'll be alright. After you've dealt some damage, another cutscene kicks in showing you your first boss, a large machine.
- BOSS: Heavy Tank
- ABILITIES: Magma Blast, Flamethrower, Blade Up, Blade Attack
- TYPE: Mechanical
- ELEMENT: None
- STEAL: None
- DROP: None
- You have two targets at the start of the battle: Right Unit and Left Unit.
- Hit the Right Unit. This will cause it to activate it's Right Unit Defense.
- While that's activated you can't really do any damage to it, so hit the Left Unit. As before, when you hit the Left Unit it activates Left Unit Defense and it will deactivate the Right Unit Defense. See the pattern here? You need to alternate between attacking the Right and Left Units. When it's the tank's turn to attack it will hit you with a fire attack or use Blade Up. When it uses Blade Up that means its next move will be Blade Attack. It's pretty powerful, but nothing you can't handle.
- Just keep whittling the Right and Left Units down until they break off, which will reveal the Tank's Magic Engine. Hit that and the battle will end.
The Highlands of Wohl II
- After the battle, run forward to trigger a cutscene.
- Once the cutscene is over, save at the yellow floating sphere.
- TIP: Do not step in the magma. You will lose HP.
- NOTE: These can be found throughout the game in order for you to save your progress.
- TIP: Save at every opportunity and create multiple save files of the same game. Multiple save game files allows more freedom to go back to previous files to redo/undo anything in your most recently saved game.
- Walk forward for another cutscene to be thrown into another battle against Insane Khent Soldiers.
- Once the fight is over, move east to find some debris. Press A to ram it, and you'll get Healing Medicine.
- Ram another debris blocking the path north to gain a Bruiser Ring. Kaim automatically equips it. A tutorial will appear to explain the Aim Ring System.
- Continue forward until you find a large metal object. Ram it to gain an Angel's Plume. Ramming the next large metal object to the right will reveal a Mana Herb.
- TIP The most important item you found in the area is the Bruiser Ring. This will be the first of many rings you'll find while playing Lost Odyssey. Make sure you view the tutorial on how to use the rings, and make sure you practice your ring-hit skills. Getting good at using rings is a key to making life easier within the game. Equip the ring your enemy is weakest against. It doesn't matter if this forces you to change equipment every turn/fight. This will make the game that much easier
- Walk forward. On the ground there is a shiny object. Pick it up to obtain a Name Plate.
