L'Oreal is a cosmetics and beauty products company. They make products for hair care, hair color, make-up, perfume and skin care. L'Oreal was originally started by a man named Eugene Schueller on July 30, 1909. When L'Oreal was founded, they focused only on hair color products. They operated under the name Société Française des Teintures Inoffensives pour Cheveux. Scheuller developed one of the first commercial hair colorings, which he sold to hair professionals in the Paris area. The colorings offered a more natural look compared to the henna based dyes of the time, and were free of harmful chemicals.
