Lords of Dogtown

Lords of Dogtown is a 2005 movie based on the lives of a group of skateboarders known as the Z-Boys. The Z-Boys were real life skaters on the Zephyr Skateboard Team in Venice, California in the 1970s. They used things like empty swimming pools to revolutionize the art of skateboarding, turning it into a legitimate sport and vastly increasing its popularity around the world.

The actual Z-Boys are Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, and Jay Adams. In the film, Victor Rasuk plays Tony, Emile Hirsch plays Jay, and John Robinson plays Stacy. Also making appearances in the movie are Heath Ledger, Johnny Knoxville, and Mitch Hedberg in his last film appearance before his 2005 death.
