Nature as Inspiration
According to Loomstate's mission statement, the company is not only committed to natural production means, but also uses nature as a model for its designs, including landscapes and rock formations. The company also says its designs follow the "Golden Ratio," a formula for aesthetically pleasing proportions that has been observed in nature and used in art since the Renaissance. The mid-19th century German scientist Adolf Zeising reported the appearance of the Golden Ratio in natural phenomena ranging from animal skeletons to the shapes of crystals. -
