    According to the Red River County District in Texas, Hobbs was spotted and videotaped selling cocaine near his Clarksville High School football stadium. He was caught as the buyer was a confidential informant, who led investigators to Hobbs.   • Football Career

    Hobbs began his college football career in 2002 with the TCU Horned Frogs. He set several school records for a freshman, recording 157 carries for 1,029 yards and 13 touchdowns. Hobbs was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year and was selected for the All-Conference USA and All-American All-Freshman teams. His success continued in 2003, when he tallied 169 carries for 659 yards and nine touchdowns. Hobbs was limited to only eight games during his junior season with injuries, but was able to record 125 carries for 647 yards and 10 touchdowns. He received a medical redshirt in 2005 after injuring his groin in week two.
