Long Day's Journey into Night

  • Eugene O'Neill's play Long Day's Journey into Night has been considered by many, his masterpiece. It was first performed by The Royal Dramatic Theatre in 1956. O'Neill dedicated this play to his wife for their twelfth wedding anniversary.
  • Synopsis

    A play in four acts, it recounts one heart wrenching day in the life of the Tyrone family. Revealed is the turmoil of substance abuse by the family members, in particular the morphine addiction of the mother who spends much of her time questioning her life's choices. Her husband and sons are constantly at odds, while bouncing the blame for her condition between them.
