New Yorkers celebrated the 20th anniversary of the film, Say Anything by forming flash mobs at various sites in Manhattan on November 3, 2009. The events were part of a marketing campaign for the 20th anniversary edition Blu-ray and DVD of the 1989 film. Packs of Lloyd Dobler look-alikes donning trenchcoats hoisted boomboxes above their heads while Peter Gabriel's song, "In Your Eyes" played, replicating the iconic scene from the film, which starred John Cusack as Dobler.
