Littlest Pet Shop is a line of toy featuring stylized animal characters. Originally, the line consisted mainly of plastic figurines, but has expanded to include computer games, interactive "pets" and an electronic diary.
History

Littlest Pet Shop toys were introduced by the toy manufacturer Kenner in 1992. In a reversal of the usual merchandising process, the toys inspired an animated TV show of the same name. The cartoon only lasted a single season, and its brand of humor has been compared to Animaniacs. Hasbro revived the line in 2005 with a significantly different design. The preconceived line has become enormously successful, selling over 60 million toys.
