  • Littlest Pet Shop is a line of toy featuring stylized animal characters. Originally, the line consisted mainly of plastic figurines, but has expanded to include computer games, interactive "pets" and an electronic diary.
  • History

Littlest Pet Shop toys were introduced by the toy manufacturer Kenner in 1992. In a reversal of the usual merchandising process, the toys inspired an animated TV show of the same name. The cartoon only lasted a single season, and its brand of humor has been compared to Animaniacs. Hasbro revived the line in 2005 with a significantly different design. The preconceived line has become enormously successful, selling over 60 million toys.
