Sony Yanking Copyrighted Content
Wired has reported that LittleBigPlanet users who have uploaded levels containing references to copyrighted material, such as television shows or other videogames, are finding their creations being deleted outright without any warning. The users are upset about this because Sony has been pulling the content without warning, instead of giving users the chance to remove the offending content from their levels. If the user failed to save a version of the level on their local hard drive, then their level is completely lost as a result of this. Sony has not been apologetic on the matter, saying they're negotiating with numerous sources to bring special content into the game. The developers of LittleBigPlanet have opened a new section of the official site, called the LittleBigWorkshop. This new section is designed to build and foster the community around the game. The site include forums, instructional elements for beginning level designers, places for user to upload and share their created content and the ability to create blueprints for level ideas, which can then be printed for reference while building a level in the game.
