Little House on the Prairie Book

  • Little House on the Prairie is a semi-autobiographical book that tells the story of author Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family in the Mid-West during 19th Century America. It is the third, yet most popular book in the Little House series and was made into a television series Little House on the Prairie.
  • Plot Synopsis

    After selling this house in Big Woods, Wisconsin, the Ingalls family moves west. They meet Indians for the first time and battle illness. After building their new home they find that the U.S. government has not yet let the new land be settled. They are left to uproot the family again before the U.S. Army forcibly makes them leave.
