Little Big Town

Little Big Town is a country music band comprised of four members who say they are more a family than anything. The band's beginning days were during the college era of members Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman who teamed up as a singing duo while students at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. The duo began singing together in the mid 90s and added their friend Jimi Westbrook in 98 and later that year the addition of Phillip Sweet finalized the group make up which is still in place more than ten years later. http://littlebigtown.com/biographies.html

The band, well known for their harmony style of music, released the album A Road to Here in 2005 and quickly found it to be their first platinum. The album contains four Top 20 hit songs, "Boondocks," "Bring It On Home," "Good As Gone" and "A Little More You". The band does the majority of their own songwriting and reached for levels of diversity in the 2007 album A Place to Land by adding songs which highlight the band and fan relationship, the feelings of love and harmony, and one which highlights the plight of emotional abuse. The newest Little Big Town album is called Little White Church and the title song is about a woman tired of her relationship going no where. The lines of the song express the stand she takes.

Little Big Town band members Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook became the proud parents of their first child, a a baby boy born March 5, 2010 in Nashville. The baby has been named Elijah Dylan Westbrook and joins the other Little Big Town group babies. Band member Kimberly Schlapman is mom to a little girl named Daisy Pearl, age 2 1/2, and Phillip Sweet is dad to 2-year-old Penelopi Jane.
