Lisa Whelchel is an American actress and author. She starred as private school student Blair Warner on the hit 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life, a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes. A born-again Christian since the age of 10, Whelchel currently writes books about her family and her faith and runs a ministry out of her home.

Lisa Welchel's most well known character, Blair Warner in The Facts of Life, is nothing like her real persona. Welchel is very public advocate for Born-Again Christian values, which is nothing like the materialistic, superficial, snobby débutante Blair Warner. Blair was a girl from a rich family, and often lorded her wealth and privilege over the other students from her dorm at Eastland, a private school for girls. Aside from having real-life values that are direct conflict to Blair's flamboyance, Welchel believes that home schooling is the best form, and educates her three children at home. -
