Tampa, Florida-area substitute teacher Lisa Robyn Marinelli, 40, was arrested on March 24, 2008 and accused of the sexual abuse of a 17 year old boy. Allegations The alleged relationship was discovered when the boy's father saw him getting out of Marinelli's car, while allegedly zipping up his pants on February 27, 2008. Further investigation found hundreds of phone calls and text messages between Marinelli's cell phone and the boy, and authorities have speculated that as many as ten sexual encounters may have taken place. Marinelli's Response Marinelli claims that her daughter often used the cell phone and was 'friendly' with the boy. Marinelli lists her occupation as a substitute teacher at Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, Florida, however she was fired in February 2008 due to concerns over her 'professional behavior.' It is not clear whether the victim was a student at Mitchell High School. Backstory Marinelli was the third female teacher in the Tampa, Florida area in two weeks to be arrested for sexual abuse of a minor. Middle school math teacher Stephanie Ragusa, 28, faces charges for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old, while substitute teacher [Mary Jo Spack]], 45, is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old while drinking with several students at a motel.
