  • Lisa Madigan is the attorney general for the state of Illinois. On July 8, 2009, Madigan announced that she would not run for a US Senate seat, despite being wooed by President Barack Obama, Rahm Emanuel and other high ranking officials, Chicago News. She also announced that would not be running for governor, and would instead run for another term as Illinois Attorney General.

    On December 12, 2008, Madigan filed a motion with the state's supreme court asking that Governor Rod Blagojevich be removed from office.
