Lions for Lambs received mixed reviews from critics. The film scored only a 28% on Rotten Tomatoes and an overall rating of 47 on Metacritic.
The box office gross was $15,000,115 in the U.S.. Abroad it did much better bringing in $47,123,313. The total gross worldwide was $62,123,428. The films production budget was $35 million. According to The New York Times, the film lost an estimated $50 million.
