Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn is one of the best alpine skiers ever to represent the United States, and is a member of the United States Ski Team. Born Lindsey Caroline Kildow, Lindsey began skiing at the age of two, and calls American skiing legend Picabo Street her role model. She was the first American to win Italy's Trofeo Topolino in Slalom in 1999, and debuted on the World Cup tour at the age of 16 on November 18, 2000 in Park City, Utah. She married fellow US Ski team member Thomas Vonn on September 29, 2007.
Career
Lindsey Vonn won her third consecutive Overall World Cup title on March 12, 2010. She is the first American woman to achieve that honor,http://www.cbc.ca/sports/alpineskiing/story/2010/03/12/sp-vonn-title.html and did it by winning the final World Cup super-G event. "The last few years have gone really well for me. I'm so happy everything went well for me this year. It's so hard to say whether you'll be able to win the overall title. To stand here in the finish and have a title in my hand is so rewarding."
Vonn won a gold medal in the women's downhill Alpine Skiing event and a bronze medal in the super-G at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Many people in the media were predicting five medals, some even going so far as to ruminate on the possibility of her taking home five golds. However, her chances at achieving that feat were greatly reduced when she injured her shin a few weeks before the Olympics. Thankfully, it was only a deep bruise, and while painful, Lindsey was able to compete through the pain and medal in two events. Prior to the Olympics Vonn sparked some controversy by posing with other members of the US Ski Team in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Vonn won her second-consecutive World Cup title on February 28, 2009, winning an event in Bulgaria. She became the second female American skier to win back-to-back World Cup titles, matching the record Picabo Street set in 1995 and 1996.ESPN.com: Vonn Earns Second Downhill Crown

Lindsey Vonn in Public
Lindsey Vonn's fame has led her to a number of new opportunities. In addition to her Sport Illustrated appearance, Vonn has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and is on the cover of a box of Wheaties.
On March 31, 2010, it was announced that Lindsey Vonn would be appearing in the season finale of Law and Order. "The skier will play an administrative assistant with a vital clue in a case involving a terrorist" said sources at NBC. She filmed her scenes in the first week of April with Law and Order stars Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson and Alana de la Garza in Brooklyn. The show's 20th season finale aired on May 23, 2010. Lindsey played an office worker with the New York School district who helped the police identify a teacher that the police needed to speak with regarding a bomb threat. As yet, there are no plans to renew Law and Order for a 21st season, which would make Lindsey's appearance in the season finale also the final episode of the venerable show.

World Cup Ski Champion Lindsey Vonn
"Lindsey Vonn is known as a lot of things. To some the word prodigy comes to mind, others like to use the term downhill ski legend, and some would just say that she's plain hot. But there is more to this amazing gal than the title Overall World Cup Champion.
For starters, she loves myspace, Kanye West, and has a pet cow named Sunny."
Lindsey Vonn on Law and Order
On May 23rd, 2010, Lindsey Vonn appeared on the series finale of Law and Order. Lindsey is a self-avowed addict of Law and Order, and has been quoted as saying that she'll watch multiple episodes at a time during her free time.
Lindsey Vonn on the Cover of Sport Illustrated
Lindsey Vonn sparked some controversy when she appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Some people felt that the pose was overly sexual, and that she wasn't being respected as an athlete, but was instead being disrespected as a female athlete (who rarely grace the cover of SI). Those that disagreed argued that she was dressed head-to-toe in her Olympic uniform, and was posed in a traditional position for her sport, something that male athletes would frequently do.
The controversy literally disappeared overnight when the following week Lindsey appeared in the pages of the SI Swimsuit Edition. Naturally she was wearing considerably less.
