In the Heights
In the Heights follows the residents of a single block in the largely Dominican-American New York neighborhood of Washington Heights over the course of two days. The songs, unlike traditional show tunes, are designed to sound contemporary, and include elements of salsa, soul and hip-hop music. The show won a total of four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in 2008. Universal Pictures is planning to adapt musical into a feature film in 2010. -
