  • Professional football wide reciever Limas Sweed plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League. Originally born in Texas, he played college football for the Texas Longhorns.
  • High School Highlights

    Sweed played for head coach Glen West at Brenham High School in Texas. As a sopohmore, he recorded eighty nine tackles and three interceptions. Sweed lettered three times as a wide receiver, and four times in track. In 2002, h2 helped lead his high school team to a 14-2 record which took them to the championship game. Sweed had a total of 72 catches in three seasons, and touchdowns were made out of 31 of them.

    Sweed started 39 of the 43 games that he played at the University of Texas, where he made a total of 124 catches for total yards of 1,915 with 20 touchdowns. In 2006, his 12 touchdown catches tied the season record that was set by Roy Williams in 2002, and finished his career fifth on the school's record list.

    After college, Sweed was selected 52nd overall in the 2008 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
