Cole was discovered by in 2002 by a London model scout. Her first mainstream photoshoot was with Steven Meisel in 2003 for Italian Vogue. She booked several campaigns from that first shoot, including for Prada in 2004, Moschino in 2005 and Jean-Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix in 2006.
