Lillo Brancato and co-defendant Steven Armento allegedly broke into an apartment to look for drugs when they were confronted by Officer Daniel Enchautegui and a shootout erupted. Armento's shot killed the policeman and Brancato claims he did not know Armento had a gun. FOX News reported on January 9, 2009, that Brancato was sentenced to ten years in prison for attempted burglary, but was acquitted in the death of Officer Daniel Enchautegui.
