Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty

  • Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession. He is expected to receive a one-year jail sentence. Previously he had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession, which would have had him facing at least 3 1/2 years in prison. A gun was allegedly found on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007. He had been set to be tried starting January 20, 2010.

    Lil Wayne is a Grammy-winning rapper, winning in 2008 for best rap solo performance with the song "A Milli." His albums include Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, and Tha Carter III. His birth name is Dwayne Carter. Lil Wayne is also facing a trial in Arizona for felony drug possession and weapons charges.
