Lights in the Dusk, or Laitakaupungin valot, is a 2006 Finnish drama that was written, directed and edited by Aki Kaurismaki. This is the last in his Finland Trilogy, which also includes the films Drifting Clouds and The Man Without A Past. Plot Synopsis
Lights in the Dark tells the story of night security guard Koistenin (Janne Hyytiainen). The lonely Koistenin, who works at night guarding a mall, has only a few friends, including snack shop owner Aila (Maria Heiskanen). Beautiful blonde Mirja (Maria Jarvenhelmi), the girlfriend of a jewel thief, charms Koistenin into helping with a mall robbery—a robbery that Koistenin is ultimately framed for.
