Life of Pi is a fictional novel about a young man and a Bengal tiger who are shipwrecked and end up drifting out to sea for over two hundred days.
Plot Synopsis
Life of Pi chronicles the journey of Pi after he loses his family and all his possessions in a tragic shipwreck. The only thing left of the yacht he was traveling on (with a zoo full of animals) is one life boat that is under the control of a potentially vicious tiger. Pi has to learn to control the tiger and get them both to a safe shore before Pi starves or is eaten by the beast.
Critical Reception
Life of Pie won several awards including the prestigious Man Booker Prize.
