  On March 16, 2009, Neeson's wife Natasha Richardson was on a ski lesson on Montreal while her husband was filming Chloe nearby. She fell during the less and later was rushed to the hospital. On March 18, 2009, she was taken off life support and passed away.

• Early Life

  William John Neeson was born in Ballymena, Country Antrim, Ireland. In his youth he would practice boxing, was a forklift operator, truck driver and assistant architect.

• Film Career

  After working odd jobs and appearing in theater productions, director John Boorman cast him in his period epic Excalibur. He would then establish himself as a popular character actor working in such films as The Mission, The Dead Pool and Next of Kin. He would land his first starring role in the Sam Raimi film Darkman. He would then establish himself as one of the most popular leading actors in Hollywood with work in such films as Husband and Wives and his Oscar nominated performance in the Academy Award winning film Schindler's List directed by Steven Spielberg. Neeson's successful career has led him to since work with the top directors in the business such as Neil Jordan in Michael Collins, George Lucas in Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Martin Scorsese in Gangs of New York, and Christopher Nolan in Batman Begins.
