Hackers attacked the computer to the Large Hadron Collider, a Big Bang Experiment which has sparked much controversy, on September 9 and September 10, 2008. The hackers displayed the messages "GST: Greek Security Team" and "We are 2600 - don't mess with us" and destroyed at least one computer file. The Web site is no longer accessible to the public. LHC scientists said the hackers were only a step away from the computer control system of one of the LHC's huge detectors, a large magnet. The Telegraph: Hackers attack Large Hadron Collider (September 12, 2008) -
