  • The Lexus IS is compact luxury car first produced in 1998. Currently, the IS is available in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. Recently the high performance IS-F was introduced with a price tag above $50,000. Competitors to the IS include the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Acura TSX, BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G35 and Audi A4.

    1. Highs include a powerful 3.5 liter engine, sharp rear-wheel dynamics and reliability.
    2. Lows include no manual option for the 3.5 liter engine, small back seat and subpar handling.

  • Consumer Guide Road Test

    • Consumer Guide gave the IS350 a 64 out of 100. It received high marks marks for acceleration, quietness, detailing and controls. It's low points were for rear seat comfort and cargo room. CG also rated the IS250, which recieved a 61, mainly due to the weaker acceleration.
