Lex Luger is a retired professional wrestler who competed for World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment.
Career
Luger joined the WCW (as part of the NWA) in 1987, and became a member of the Four Horsemen later that year. He later unsuccessfully pursued the faction's leader, Ric Flair, for the NWA Championship. Luger wouldn't win the belt until 1991, after WCW separated from the NWA.
Luger debuted in the WWE in 1993 as "The Narcissist," feuding with Mr. Perfect and Tatanka before turning face. After Hulk Hogan left the company, owner Vince McMahon hyped Luger to be the next WWE hero. Even though Luger co-won the 1994 Royal Rumble with Bret Hart, he would never win a major championship in the WWE.
He returned to WCW in the summer of 1994, and later fought the nWo upon its "attack" on the company. Luger won his second and last WCW Championship from nWo leader Hulk Hogan before joining the nWo Wolfpac (the "babyface" faction of the nWo) in 1998.
Luger wrestled for the company until the WWE bought it in 2001.
Retirement
Aside from sporadic appearances in TNA Wrestling, Luger retired in 2005.
In 2003, Luger's girlfriend Elizabeth Hulette, better known to wrestling fans as Miss Elizabeth, died in a townhouse they shared in Georgia. He was arrested that day after authorities found anabolic steroids and other drugs in the residence. Hulette's death was later ruled accidental.
Luger is currently recovering from a "spinal stroke" he suffered in October 2007.
