Leslie Nielsen is a Canadian actor who began his career primarily in drama, including the 1956 film Forbidden Planet and 1972's The Poseidon Adventure. He also kept busy with numerous television appearances.
His career took a comedic turn when he played the role of Dr. Rumack in the acclaimed 1980 parody [[Airplane!]]. From there, Nielsen began building a name for himself in the world of spoof films, notably The Naked Gun trilogy (which came from a short-lived TV series, [[Police Squad!]]) in which he played lead character and clueless cop Frank Drebin.
Since then, Nielsen has starred in numerous parody films and his name has practically become synonymous with "spoof." Some of his screen credits include Spy Hard, Wrongfully Accused, and Scary Movie 3.
