Les Stroud

Les Stroud is a musician and survivalist who is the host and star of the Discovery Channel reality television series Survivorman.

Early Career

Les Stroud began his career in the music industry in the 1980s as a video producer the for Canadian music channel MuchMusic.Discovery Channel: He's A Survivor. He's Les Stroud.

Into the Wild

In 1987 he left his indoor job and became a wilderness instructor. He spent the next seven years exploring Canada. During this period he met his wife Susan Jamison. They spent an entire year living in the forest of northern Ontario with no matches and no tent. Survivorman Synopsis

Survivorman is an educational television series that attempts to educate viewers about survival. In each episode Les Stroud is in a different remote location where he demonstrates to viewers how to find food and water, how to make shelter and other details of how to survive in the wilderness.
