Leonid Brezhnev was the former General Secratary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 14 October 1964 – 10 November 1982. He was born on 19 December 1906, and died on 10 November 1982. He was the longest leader of the soviet union, out-serving Joseph Stalin. His leadership was known as a ok reign, but he did not act on corruption within the Soviet Union and allowed the economy to stagnate. He was well known for his love of medals (he received a total of 114).
