Leo Laporte

  • Leo Laporte is a technology journalist, podcaster, and television technology personality. He is known for his podcast called TWiT, which stands for This Week in Tech. He is also remembered for his tenture on Tech TV the former name of the cable television network G4. There he hosted several technology-related shows including Call for Help and The Screen Savers.

    Laporte is the owner and major talent for TWiT.tv, a network of podcasts or "netcasts", his preferred term. Among the shows he hosts or collaborates on regularly are: This Week in Tech, MacBreak Weekly, Daily GizWhiz, Radio Leo, Munchcast, and The Tech guy.

    Leo Laporte has written several books on technology, including guides to Safe Computing and using TiVo.

    He is also an avid photographer. He is currently touring China, documenting his journey by means of photos and audioblog. After a week traveling on his own, he will join the Macmania 9 cruise, delivering four lectures on technology. Leoville [1] <ref>

  • Leo Laporte Biography

    After graduating from Yale University with a degree in Chinese History, Leo Laporte started one of the first Macintosh-only bulletin board systems, called MacQueue.

    Laporte went on to host various television and radio programs relating to technology. He currently hosts a nationally syndicated live radio program called The Tech Guy, which airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00 AM PST.
