Leo Laporte
Leo Laporte makes his living being "a genial fellow on the radio". http://wiki.twit.tv/wiki/TWiT_209/Transcript He is a technology journalist, podcaster, photographer and broadcast media personality. He is best known for his podcast TWiT, which stands for This Week in Tech. He is also remembered for his tenure on Tech TV, the former name of the cable television network G4. There he hosted several technology-related shows, including Call for Help and The Screen Savers. In December 2009, he announced he would no longer take a salary from operating costs of TWiT, but would instead rely on contributions from listeners. He believes that listeners will have more direct feedback about what the network is worth to them through this tipping mechanism. [1] Laporte announced profits of $1.1 million on his podcast network TWIT.tv during an address to the Online News Association on October 2, 2009. [2] <ref>
