Lemon meringue pie is a baked pie made with a pastry crust, lemon curd filling and a whipped meringue topping. Though it doesn't have much flavor, the meringue is the impressive part of the pie, and some "mile high" versions push the envelope with how much meringue gets placed on top of the filling. The meringue is lightly browned in the oven, then the entire pie is chilled before serving.
