Lee Stempniak

  • Lee Stempniak is a professional hockey player originally from the United States. He currently plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.
  • Career Highlights

    Prior to his NHL days, Stempniak attended and played for Dartmouth College, starting in 2001. Following his freshman year he was selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. During his junior year, in 2003-04, Stempniak helped the team win the Ivy League title as well as being selected for ECAC All-Conference and NCAA All-American. Also in 2003, he was drafted 148th overall in the NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues. In his final season at Dartmouth, Stempniak earned an All-Star selection. Following graduation Stempniak joined the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. He also made his NHL debut that same year, playing 57 games during the 2005-06 season. Following his first full season in the NHL, Stempniak was selected to play in the 2007 NHL Young Stars Game.
