  • Major League Baseball pitcher Lee Gardner currently plays for the Florida Marlins.

    Gardner was originally drafted in 1998 by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He spent his first several years in the minor leagues before making his MLB debut on May 24, 2002, playing 12 games that year. The same year Gardner also enrolled in Central Michigan University and split his playing time between there and the Toledo Mud Hens a nearby minor league affiliate. In 2005, Gardner was called up by the Devil Rays for five games, before being granted free agency in October. On January 10, 2006, he signed as a free agent with the Detroit Tigers, however never played a single game with them.

    The following year, on January 4, 2007 Gradner signed as a free agent with the Florida Marlins. In 2007, his final year at Central Michigan University, he also played 62 games with the Marlins.
