Leap Year is a romantic comedy film about a woman who travels all the way to Dublin, Ireland, to propose to her boyfriend on February 29 - also known as Leap Day. According to Irish tradition, a man who receives a marriage proposal on a Leap Day must accept it. Anand Tucker, director of the Steve Martin romantic comedy Shopgirl, directs stars Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams, Matthew Goode and Adam Scott in Leap Year. Leap Year stars Amy Adams as businesswoman Anna Brady, a woman in search of the perfect man for a husband - she believes this man is her boyfriend of four years, Jeffrey (played by Adam Scott). Jeffrey has not proposed to Anna in the years they've been dating, and she's grown impatient. She travels to Ireland, where she meets a local man, Declan (played by Matthew Goode).
