  • Country music singer LeAnn Rimes won the television talent show Star Search when she was just eight years old. By the age of 11, she released her first album Everybody's Sweetheart. Besides singing, Rimes made a special appearance in the movie Coyote Ugly and guest starred on Moesha, Days of Our Lives and Mad TV.

    The wife of actor Eddie Cibrian, Brandi Glanville, accuses Rimes of "stalking her husband" in June of 2009.   • Derby Day

    On May 2, 2009, Rimes became the first ever national recording artist to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" as part of the Derby Day ceremonies. Senior Vice President, Kevin Flanery reported that her performance was the start of a 21st century Derby tradition.
  • Alleged Affair

    Rimes is featured in a March 2009 issue of US Weekly in which they claim she was caught having an affair with her Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian. The issue contains photos of the two holding hands and kissing at the Mosun and Club M in Laguna Beach, California.   • Blue

    At the age of 13, Rimes released her album Blue, selling 123,000 copies within its first week. It was so successful that it was certified six times platinum. When she released the song Blue, it reached number one on the country top ten and peaked number 10 on the Billboard charts. This album shot Rimes to teenage stardom in which people often compared her to Patsy Cline.
